Console Server

The DBAnalyzer Console Server runs in the context of a specific Ingres installation and allows remote clients to monitor, control, and manage the DBAnalyzer and Ingres installations. The Console Server listens for client console connections on a well known port.

For Sentinel Consoles the Console Server will:

• Start and stop Sentinel processes
• Edit, create, and delete Sentinel configuration files
• Display contents of active and historical alarm logs
• Prune historical alarm log

For Monitor Consoles the Console Server will:

• Query the DBAnalyzer Performance Database
• Materialize DBAnalyzer virtual tables on demand
• Execute dynamic queries issued by DBAnalyzer Query
